Gicleé Printing

Gicleé Printing
As an alternative to traditional screen printing, we also offer digital gicleé printing. Gicleé printing applies ink in a similar way to inkjet printing, but uses 10 colour cartridges, to give extremely accurate colour reproductions and saturated, rich colours. Gicleé printing ink is also archival, and when coupled with acid-free paper stock, means our giclee prints are fade-resistant for a minimum of 60 years. Due to being a digital process, giclee has a swift turnaround and is more cost-effective than screen printing.

Our printer is a 44-inch Epson SureColour P9000. It uses 10 different colours to produce our prints, giving a perfect match to your original artwork after colour profiling and proofing. We are capable of producing a maximum size of 110cm by any width.

Before each gicleé edition, we produce digital proofing strips. These strips are created using a segment of your artwork, and demonstrates the different colour profiles we can use, which have a variety of effects depending on the colours in the artwork. Once we’ve completed this process, we’ll discuss your preference to create the final edition.

Hybrid Printing
We are also able to add silkscreen elements to an archival inkjet edition. A range of finishes can be added to a gicleé print, including gloss varnish, specific colours, metallic ink and metallic leafing. This dual method provides a tactile quality to otherwise matte digital prints, highlighting specific elements of artwork and producing a custom, premium finish to an edition.

All our giclee prints are straight-cut by hand to ensure complete accuracy and a razor-sharp finish. We’re also able to provide services like blind embossing to elevate the appearance of your print. Please note, due to the paper’s coating, we are unable to hand-tear gicleé prints.

We pack and ship our work with the utmost care and attention. We interleave our prints with acid-free paper, and design and hand-make custom packaging for every order. All editions are shipped with a dedicated fine art handler, whether domestic or international, to ensure safe delivery of your edition.
